Nominations are Open for 1 Winkelman NRCD Supervisor seat

The Winkelman Natural Resource Conservation District (NRCD) will hold a Supervisor Election on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Ray Hall, in Kearny, Arizona, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The District is soliciting petitions for a supervisor candidate.

The election’s open seat is for a new 6-year term. To be eligible, a candidate must be 18 years of age, a resident of the District, a registered voter in the State of Arizona, and have a Cooperator Agreement on file with the Winkelman Natural Resource Conservation District.

A regular candidate nomination petition requires the signatures of 25 district cooperators; while, a write-in nomination petition does not require signatures.

Write-in nomination petitions must be filed by March 28

Regular nomination petitions must be filed by April 27.

Please send all required forms (Nomination, Signatures & Cooperator Agreement) and proof of eligibility (Voter Registration & Drivers Licence IDs) to:

The ASU Landscape Architecture Design Studio will hold a workshop on February 24at 2 pm at the Good Shepherd Methodist Church, 617 Senator Chastain St.

The workshop will focus on the Town of Kearny’s Gila River Restoration Project.

Find out what the new conservation opportunities might be for you and your ranch through the BLM’s new five year agreement with our state association. Also, a presentation on Project CENTRL.

The Education Center meeting will be held after the regular business of the quarterly meeting. Join the wnrcd.org blog for updates & activities. Lunch is Potluck.

AVCA is hosting a tour in the Altar Valley as part of the Western Landowners Alliance Fall Meeting. Attached is the agenda, with information on how to join the meeting and the social activities. Hope you’ll be able to join!
