The Executive Board for the Arizona Natural Resource Conservation Districts State Association, Inc. is recommending that the State Association change the name of the Association back to the Arizona Association of Conservation Districts, Inc. The name change is being proposed to reflect the Association membership of both the Natural Resource Conservation Districts authorized under State law, and the Soil and Water Conservation Districts that are authorized under Tribal laws in Arizona. The name change is also needed to correct discrepancies in the Association’s business name between the Arizona Corporation Commission and the federal contracting systems.

The By-Laws of the Association require that the proposed By-Law change be posted, and distributed to the Districts not less than 60 days prior to the vote of the Board of Directors.

The Arizona NRCD State Association Board of Directors will hold their business meeting, and vote on the name change at the 2015 summer convention, being held on August 11-13, 2015 at the Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park, Arizona. The Board of Directors meeting will be held at on Thursday August 13th, starting at 8:30 am.

A quorum of the Association Board of Directors for the conduct of Association business shall consist of one-third (33%) of the Districts in the Association. Amendments to the Association Bylaws shall be made when approved by two-thirds (66%) affirmative vote of the Board of Directors present.

It is critical that the Chair of each Conservation District, or their designated representative be present at the business meeting in order to the business of the organization. Please contact Executive Director, Steve Barker at anrcd or 480-452-6895 and let him know who your voting representative will be for the business meeting.
